Ten years ago, Sara and Rich sat together in the barn as newlyweds, surrounded by family, friends, and the excitement of the life they were just beginning.
In 2026, they returned to that same place—not to get married, but to celebrate everything that had happened since. For their 10th anniversary, Sara and Rich chose to return to Barn on Bridge, the place where their marriage began, for an anniversary dinner with their children. It was a chance to slow down, revisit some favorite memories, and introduce their family to a very special chapter in their story. And, fittingly, they brought along a tradition that has followed them throughout their marriage.
A Wedding Day They Still Remember
When they were searching for the perfect place to celebrate their wedding, they were immediately drawn to Barn on Bridge’s rustic charm and warm, welcoming atmosphere. “It felt like the perfect place to celebrate with our family and friends,” they shared. “The food choices were amazing too.” Their wedding day was everything they had hoped for—and then some. They remember being surrounded by the people they loved, enjoying the beautiful setting, and even narrowly avoiding a thunderstorm. But more than anything, they remember the people. One of their most cherished memories is looking out at the room and seeing friends and family gathered together to celebrate with them, many of whom had traveled from all over the country to be there. It was a moment that captured what the day was really about: bringing the people they loved together to celebrate the beginning of their life as a married couple.
Ten Years of Growing Together
A lot can happen in a decade. Since saying “I do,” they have built a life together, traveled, grown as a couple, and shared countless milestones. One of the biggest and most meaningful was becoming parents. Through every season, their relationship has continued to grow stronger. “We’ve learned to support each other, laugh together, and appreciate the little moments even more,” they said. And their advice to couples just beginning their marriage journey is beautifully simple:
“Keep communicating. Choose each other every day. And make time to enjoy the journey together.”
Back to Where It All Began
For their 10th anniversary, returning to Barn on Bridge felt like the perfect way to honor the beginning of their marriage and reflect on the decade they had shared. There was another reason, too. Their wedding day had been filled with so much excitement that they never really had the opportunity to slow down and enjoy all of the food they had carefully chosen for their celebration. So, ten years later, they decided to do something a little different. They returned to Barn on Bridge and enjoyed the same menu they had selected for their wedding—this time in a quiet, relaxed setting with just the two of them and their children. Walking back through the venue a decade later brought back a flood of memories. “It was special,” they said. “Walking back in brought back so many memories and reminded us how quickly 10 years can go by.”
Sharing Their Story With the Next Generation
Perhaps the most meaningful part of their return was being able to share Barn on Bridge with their children. Ten years ago, this was the place where their family story began. Now, they could bring their children inside and show them exactly where it all happened. They pointed out the table where they sat in front of the window and the walkway in the loft where they shared their first dance. And, of course, the kids had their own favorite part of the evening: the clothespin s’mores for dessert! Watching their children enjoy a place that holds so much meaning for them made the anniversary celebration feel truly full circle.
A Picture Worth a Thousand Memories
There is another tradition that makes Sara & Rich’s anniversary celebrations especially meaningful. Each year, they take a picture holding the photograph from the previous year. Over time, the images have created a visual timeline of their life together. Their 2026 anniversary photo continues that tradition—and this time, it brings them back to Barn on Bridge. Their original 2016 wedding photo, taken in front of the silo, is now part of that decade-long collection. Look closely enough at the newest photograph, and you can almost see the original picture—and the years of memories tucked inside it. It’s more than a photograph. It’s a reminder of how much can happen in ten years.
The Best Memories Are Still Ahead
If they could go back and give their newlywed selves one piece of advice on their wedding day, they wouldn’t tell them what was coming. They’d tell themselves: “Take it all in, enjoy every moment, and know that the best memories are still ahead.”
The barn may have been the setting for their wedding day, but the real story has unfolded in the years since—in the adventures, the milestones, the laughter, the quiet moments, and the family they’ve built together. And if their anniversary tradition is any indication, this is only one chapter in a much longer story. Here’s to the next picture, the next milestone, and all the memories still waiting to be made.
