What is your job title? What do you do day-to-day?
I’m a sales manager, which means that I work with couples at all the different stages of the wedding planning process. I might be giving a tour to a newly engaged couple, sitting down with a couple to plan their menu and room layout, or finalizing details with a couple and their day-of coordinator. In between the in-person meetings, I’m corresponding with couples through phone and email to make sure the planning process is as seamless and as personal as possible. I love finding ways to incorporate pieces of the couple’s relationship into their big day – like customizing menu items that pay homage to their first date, creating signature cocktails named for their pets, or coming up with decor ideas that best fit their style. I also work with clients planning exciting celebrations, like baby showers and holidays parties!
How long have you worked for Robert Ryan Catering & Design?
I started my career here in January 2015. I left to explore a new opportunity in 2018, but found my way back home in 2019.
I would describe Robert Ryan Catering & Design as a family company that truly cares about each event that they put on. I would talk about the passion of the owners for both the front-of-house and back-of-house operations. You can find Mark and Bob Ryan gardening, cooking and greeting guests at any property on any given day! I would explain how the sales managers are there to help every step of the way through the planning process, and how the day-of coordinators make event day a breeze from beginning to end.
Where did you grow up? What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I grew up locally in Bridgeport. I always wanted to be in the hospitality industry. While the specifics have changed, I always knew that I would work with people.
What do you love most about your job?
I love being a part of such a special day. I get to learn so much about the couple’s likes and dislikes, quirks and families. Planning a wedding is so personal and I love guiding people through.
I am obsessed with my chunky cat, Chooch, who loves to eat and snuggle.
What do you do for fun when you aren’t helping couples plan weddings?
I love to spend time with my friends and family. There’s always something to celebrate or a reason to get together! My husband, Chris, and I are expecting our first baby in October 2021, so I look forward to seeing my version of “fun” change!
What would be your desert island last meal?
Goat cheese. And pizza. Make it a goat cheese pizza.
