We’re thrilled to introduce Brianna Ryan, another hard-working member of the Ryan family. From coat checker to Day-of Coordinator & Social Media Administrator, learn more about Brie and her Robert Ryan Catering & Design journey.

What’s your job title? What do you do day-to-day?

Currently, I am a day-of coordinator and social media administrator. Prior to these positions, I served for 4 years and did coat checks for 3 years.

I create daily posts for our social media, gather content, and attend scheduled meetings with our clients. On the weekends, I run the events and execute them as the day-of coordinator, working with the servers, bartenders, and culinary team.

How long have you worked for Robert Ryan Catering & Design & what’s it like to be born into the business?

As I was born into the business, my first memory is decorating one of our old wedding venues for Christmas. My dad always had my mom come into the Columbia Station in Phoenixville to set up the Christmas tree with the lights and decorations, and we would go with her. This started when I was around 6 years old. Then, when I was 12 years old, I worked in the coat check room, checking coats in the winter until I was 15 years old. At 15, I became a server, worked my way up to a level one position, and was trained to take care of the brides and grooms during their weddings. This experience led me to become a day-of coordinator, and now I work with our staff and our client’s vendors to execute flawless events.

How would you describe Robert Ryan Catering & Design to a potential client or employee?

I would describe RRC to an employee as lively and enjoyable. When working in the front of the house, everything is upbeat and fast-paced, and that is what I enjoy most about the job. I would describe it to a client by explaining that we promise to take great care of them so they can relax and truly enjoy their most amazing, memorable day.

Where did you grow up? What did you want to be when you were growing up?

I grew up in North Coventry, located outside of Pottstown in Chester County. I graduated from Owen J Roberts High School in 2022. Throughout my childhood, I wanted to be an elementary school teacher.

What do you love most about your job?

What I love most about my job is meeting the couples at their final appointment two weeks before their wedding and at the end of their event, when they thank me for executing all the details perfectly. This is the reason why I keep coming back every weekend. I enjoy all the hard work and stress that comes along with keeping the timeline.

Tell us something about yourself that no one would know just by looking at you.

Something about myself that no one would know just by looking at me is that I was a very competitive athlete at a young age. I played softball for 6 years, then I was a gymnast for 5 years. I competed in competitions, and throughout those years, as I grew taller and taller, I slowly started to realize my height was a disadvantage in this sport. So, I started playing volleyball in high school, and in this sport, my height was an advantage, so I did very well.

What do you do for fun outside of work?

When I am not at work, I love spending time with my family on summer vacations. I also love spending time outdoors with my 4-year-old yellow lab, Sylo.

What would be your desert island last meal?

It would be chicken tikka Masala, naan bread, and pickles. If this was put on a plate and given to me daily, I would be the happiest person alive.
