We love when a story has a happy ending — just like the story our event manager Andrea Cronin tells about her journey to the Robert Ryan Catering & Design (RRC&D) team! She’s one of the reasons why our couples and clients feel right at home with our staffers and at our events. Take a moment and learn more about Andrea’s journey to RRC&D.

What is your job title? What do you do day-to-day?

As an event manager, I follow up on leads, give tours, and help my couples create their wedding plans — I help make their wedding dreams come true!

How long have you worked for Robert Ryan Catering & Design?

Since October 2021 — and, I’m loving it. I was at my prior job for 15 years and was ready for a change. I had always wanted to be an event manager! I’m incredibly thankful to be working on the Robert Ryan Catering & Design team.

How would you describe Robert Ryan Catering & Design to a potential client or employee?

In a sentence: I’d tell them that we’re an amazing caterer that mounts their perfect event at gorgeous venues.

Where did you grow up? What did you want to be when you were growing up?

I grew up in Boyertown. I wanted to be a performer on Broadway, so I went to college at Shenandoah University for vocal performance. Still, when I realized what it would take to be a working performer, I realized that it wasn’t the life I wanted. I wanted to be married and have a family, not constantly auditioning and moving from one city to the next. But, I had a blast in college, made some lifelong friendships and graduated. And then I had to figure out what I was next!

My best girlfriend was a receptionist at an executive office suite, American Executive Centers. Her manager really cultivated a fun work environment, so I applied to work there. I started as a receptionist, worked my way into the accounting department and then landed a center manager position. I worked my way up through the company! As the center manager, I brought in new clients, created events for my clients, managed my staff and learned a lot about how to keep many balls in the air. That experience is helping me immensely at RRC&D: As an event manager, I’m constantly juggling different tasks. I’m proud of my experience, and I’m looking forward to what is ahead.

What do you love most about your job?

I love meeting new people and making connections with them. That’s what it’s about!

Tell us something about yourself that no one would know just by looking at you.

I have a fantastic husband and an 8-year-old daughter.

What do you do for fun outside of work?

My husband and I both perform in local theaters. I love to go see shows and movies. I also love good food — especially when it’s with good friends and family.

What would be your desert island last meal?

A branzino filet, homemade mashed potatoes, broccoli, garlic bread and wine.
