What’s it like to enjoy your job so much that you can’t wait to come to work? That’s what it’s like being Event Manager Amanda Frangoulis! What is your job title? What do you do day-to-day?

As an event manager, I work closely with the clients throughout their planning process. My day-to-day includes drinking a lot of espresso, following up with prospective clients, hosting tours, supporting clients during their planning process, training our staff and cultivating our company’s talent — just to name a few things!


How long have you worked for Robert Ryan Catering & Design?

I started working at RRC&D in August 2021. But, I’ve been in the event industry since I was 16! My first job was bussing tables at a catering company in the Philly suburbs. Coming to RRC&D has been a breath of fresh air, and I absolutely love coming to work each day!

How would you describe Robert Ryan Catering & Design to a potential client or employee?

It truly is a family experience! From the moment you are on a tour to the day of your wedding, you feel like you are a part of the family. I enjoy cultivating that feeling among our clients. 


Where did you grow up? What did you want to be when you were growing up?

I grew up in Conshohocken and discovered in my senior year of college that I wanted to be an event planner. I was studying theater with a focus on acting and directing; then, during my last semester, I went to a different college to take courses on wedding planning and consulting. I also considered becoming a therapist or owning a bed-and-breakfast at one point, but wedding planning and consulting really resonated with me. I earned my bachelor’s from DeSales University, and a certificate in Wedding Planning and Consulting from Temple University.

What do you love most about your job?

I absolutely love working with, and getting to know, the clients throughout their event and wedding planning journey. That’s the very best part!


Tell us something about yourself that no one would know just by looking at you.

I’m a huge book worm. I try to read a book a week. My top five favorite books are: “The Picture of Dorian Grey” by Oscar Wilde, “City of Girls” by Elizabeth Gilbert, “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes” by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, “Rules of Civility” by Amor Towles and “Rebecca” by Daphne de Maurier. 

What do you do for fun outside of work?

I enjoy time with the people I love: my family and friends — and, my pets. My hobbies include hiking, traveling, reading, cooking, exploring, going to concerts and shows. I love experiences and making memories!

What would be your desert island last meal?

A cheese board with several different cheeses, breads, crackers, fruits, vegetables, mustards, and a bottle of pinot noir.
