Tell us a bit about the big day!
“We had the best morning getting ready together at our hotel with our bridesmaids. Being together and experiencing the excitement helped us both to feel (slightly) less nervous. It was such a fun experience having it all sink in while we got ready with our besties. One of our favorite parts of the morning was at the hotel when we played a game of Syd and Elena themed fishbowl. If you aren’t familiar with the game, it’s basically Taboo, Charades, and Catchphrase all rolled into one. The game is always silly and brings us together. We also listened to a lot of Taylor Swift all day long. We took photos on the venue’s property. There were so many gorgeous spots, and the weather could not have been more beautiful.”
Did Brody have a role in your wedding day?
“Although we would have loved to have Brody at our ceremony, we knew he would be more manageable for private pictures before the ceremony. He joined our first look, and we got some of the best family photos with him. He was also featured at the bar with an adorable sign, and we named our signature drink the “Spicy Chihuahua” after him. He’s a feisty guy, so it was very fitting.”
How was Philander Chase Knox Estate? Was it everything you had envisioned?
“PCK was everything we envisioned and more. The space came together so beautifully, and we were beyond thrilled with the aesthetic of our day. One of our favorite aspects of the venue is that it is so beautiful on its own. We were able to do very minimal decor, and it was gorgeous. Everything about the physical space is romantic and dreamy. ”
How about your event planner leading up to the event?
“Amanda was the absolute best! We seriously can’t do her justice in just a paragraph or two. We feel like she gave us such individualized attention throughout the whole process. She answered our hundreds of questions with enthusiasm and took so much off our plates. Without her, our day would not have been as flawless as it was. You always hear horror stories about the ball being dropped with at least one thing on your wedding day. Not with the help of Amanda and Brie!”
How was the menu?
“Great! We received so many compliments from guests on the food. Everything we ate was delicious. ”
We know how time-consuming wedding planning can be. What are you doing to fill that time now?
“Now we are going to spend our free time house hunting! Although home really is wherever we are together, we can’t wait to have a house to turn into our sanctuary and create memories together as a family.”
Any sage advice for other couples who are planning their weddings?
“Although wedding planning is so stressful at times, it is absolutely worth it. We will always look back on our wedding day and know that every minute of planning was beyond worth it. Take your time and do what feels right for you (not others). Also, try not to be too nervous. We were both so anxious about the ceremony and dances, but it really will feel like you and your partner are the only ones in the room. Enjoy it all because it flies by! Also, we really recommend getting a videographer to help you hold onto the memories of the most special day.”
